Instructions to Trust the District Certificate on your Personal Devices

Microsoft Windows

  1. Click here D321.der to download the certificate
  2. Double click on the downloaded D321.der file
  3. Click Install Certificate
  4. Choose Local Machine and click next
  5. Check “Place all certificates in the following store”
    1. Click browse
    2. Select “Trusteed root certification authorities”
    3. Click ok
  6. Click next
  7. Click finish

On iOS  (iphone, iPad) devices

  1. Download the D321.der file
  2. Tap on the downloaded file
  3. Click install


Mac OS X

This method requires that you use an account with administrative privileges.

Using the Keychain GUI

  1. Download the D321.der certificate to your desktop from here.

  2. Find the certificate you just downloaded on your computer

  3. Double-click the certificate

  4. This will open the keychange window

  5. Make sure youir keychain is ulocked by clicking the padlock in the corner  

  6. Click add

  7. Find the certificate in the keychain window (d321-ca-ca)
  8. Double click on the certificate in the window

  9. On the left side click on the "Trust"

  10. change  "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"

  11. Close out the window

  12. It should ask for your password to your Mac. Enter your Mac users password

  13. Hit "Enter" on the keybord

  14. You can lock you keychan and close out the keychane utility



There are two ways to install. Try the first way first.

First Way

  1. Click on this link: D321.der
  2. Enter a name. I gave it D321-CA-CA
  3. Select Used for "VPN and apps" if not already selected
  4. Click "OK".

Second Way

  1. Download the certificate file D321.der file onto the internal flash storage (the '/sdcard' or any subfolder).
  2. Browse to this folder with the file manager and open ' D321.der'.
    1. Although there might not be an icon for certificates and the files will have a '?'-icon, files will be opened with the certificate manager, asking you for a name to describe the to-be-imported certificate.
  3. If it is the first user certificate you install, the Android Security Model forces you to use a lock-screen to unlock your device 
  4. Check if both certificate files are installed correctly, Settings -> Security -> Certificates -> 'User'-section should now list the certificate you have just installed.


  1. Download D321.der
  2. Open Chrome go to chrome://settings/certificates
  3. Click on Authority Tab
  4. Click Import
  5. Click Downloads on the left (or wherever your cert is)
  6. Bottom Dropdown change selection to DER-encoded binary, single certificate
  7. Select the cert
  8. Click on Open
  9. Check all 3 boxes to "Trust...."
  10. Hit OK

Mozilla Firefox Browser

Because Firefox stored the certificates sepertate from windows, here is how to install the cert info Firefox.

  1. Click on this link: D321.der
  2. Open Firefox. 
  3. Click the tripple bar icon at the top right
  4. Click "Options"
  5. On the left menu click "Advanced"
  6. Choose the "Certificates" tab
  7. Select "View Certificates"
  8. Click "Import"
  9. Navigate to and select the D321.der file from within the window  (the file downloaded in step 1)
  10. Click "Open"
  11. Check "Trust this CA to identify websites"
  12. Click "OK" two times
  13. Close out Firefox and open it again.
