Madison Cares Stay 2 Play will be held Thursday, May 18 from 10 am until 11 am at Madison Education Center (60 W. Main St.) This will be an OUTDOOR ACTIVITY on the grass lawn on the north side of the building. Come prepared with sunblock, and in clothes that can get wet!
Stay 2 Play is an open play opportunity for families with children 6 months to 6 years which introduces a skill and teaches parents how to use this skill at home. We will provide open-ended activities with fun items to support large motor-free play. This is a great time for parents to network and socialize with other parents in the community. Our playgroups are facilitated by Home and Family interns from BYU-Idaho, and supervised by Early Childhood staff.

Whitney was born in Rexburg and grew up in Roberts. Whitney graduated from Rigby High School in 2012.
Whitney married Trevor Howard and is a mother of two young boys.

Children 1-18 are allowed to eat for free.
Lunch is to be eaten in the cafeteria
A 2nd lunch can be served only if there is extra food left over.
Adults may purchase lunch for $5.00
Adults may not eat off of the child's plate

Want to get certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid? This course teaches adults, who regularly interact with young people, how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use challenges. This training gives participants the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to youth who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a mental health crisis (e.g. suicidal ideation). This course provides participants with a certificate upon completion and participants are certified as MHFA first responders for three years.
The next course will be taught by Travis Schwab and Creshel Hill, and will be held Wednesday, May 10 from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm AND Thursday, May 11 from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm. This is a two-day course, and attendance is required all 8 hours to receive certification. Registration is required. Our HS tennis team has had a fantastic season so far! We are heading into District Championships next week (Wednesday and Friday) with our top groups for singles, doubles, and mixed! Here are some recent highlights from their tournaments:
At the Gate City Pocatello Tournament, they had kids in the finals for 8 out of 12 events and won three championships!!
This past weekend at the Capital Invite in Boise, they finished 5th overall out of 32 teams and had the highest finish in our area. The best finish was our Girls #1 doubles team that finished 4th. Boys doubles #1 and #2 and Girls #2 went undefeated in pod play

Madison Middle School recently performed their production of "Willy Wonka"! They did such a great job and had a huge cast! Last week was the Madison Band Annual Chili Cook-Off! Families ate and enjoyed the various Madison jazz bands that played. Our wonderful teachers (Michael Peterson , Susanna Blackwood and Steve Klingler) conducted and even sang along. It was such a fun night and the music was beautiful!
