We are delighted to announce that Bart H. Webster has been honored as the 2023-2024 inductee into the Madison High School Hall of Fame. Bart H. Webster was born and raised in an agricultural pioneering family in Rexburg in 1949. He has been actively engaged in farming pursuits his entire life. While attending Madison County schools, he worked at two local Main Street businesses, where he learned to appreciate Rexburg's culture, values, and community. Webster graduated from Madison High School in 1968, and since that time has worked to foster camaraderie and friendship with those classmates, chairing several class reunions, including the 50th Gala in 2018. Following graduation, he attended Ricks College and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1974. Webster has supported and served in the community, participating in several governing committees, the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and for 20 years on the Board of the Rexburg/Madison County Airport. He was proud to serve on the Centennial Celebration Committee for Madison County in 2013. Professionally, Webster served in the Potato Growers of Idaho and for six years on the National Potato Promotion Board. In 2002, he was recognized as Madison County Farmer of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce. Bart married Joanne Evans in 1973. They are parents of four children, 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. They are happy to have raised their family in this valley and are proud of their BOBCAT roots! The MHS Legacy committee is looking for nominations for this year's Alumni Hall of Fame Award If you know someone deserving of this prestigious recognition, please visit our website for nomination details: https://mhslegacy.weebly.com/ #wearemadison

Tomorrow, Friday, May 10, is Field Day at Hibbard! See picture with times and events. We have a hand full of raffle tickets still that we would like to get sold instead of giving the tickets back to the district. PTO said that people can use the PTO Venmo There have been questions raised about previous money earned and people wanting to know why we don't already have new playground equipment. I have attached a printout that was done last year that shows what PTO funds are used for. The past fund raiser profits combined with the district car raffle tickets are being saved in preparation to purchase some new playground equipment to add to what was moved over from the old school. The estimated cost could easily be up to be around $75,000 to purchase and to install, depending on what structure(s) the PTO committee decide on. We have earned about $24,000 so far that is being stored safely to use towards new playground equipment. The committee is coming up with a plan and then reaching out to get additional help through grants and donations as well. The goal is to have it installed summer of 2025. It is not an easy process and it is not an inexpensive process. THANK YOU to everyone who has helped so far!!!!! Buy some tickets when you are in the office for field day tomorrow.

We want to give a huge Thank You to Diane White (Administrative Assistant of Food Service) for her many years of service and dedication to our School District!! She has worked for the district for 19 years. Along with being in the food service department, she has also worked as a Librarian at Burton Elementary. Diane has streamlined the Kitchen Fair into such an amazing fundraiser, supported staff in their required training, and helped with local charity events like Secret Santa. "She is known for her spreadsheets around here! She has things so organized and accessible for us to use and work together as a team. Diann has worked so hard with food orders, office organization, and helping the lunch ladies. She has been very dedicated to being a part of the team." - Jordyn Bybee, Director of Madison Food Services #wearemadison

BIG shout out to Kadie Andreasen. Hibbard was awarded over $1700.00 from a grant she wrote to INL for supplies and materials for our STEAM program. Thank you to her and to INL!!!!! Last reminder to come to the art show tonight. It goes from 6:00-7:30. You can arrive any time during that hour and a half to see all the amazing art projects the students have done in STEAM this year with Mrs. Andreasen and do some hands on art activities then have some refreshments. Come in the front door and then make your way to the gym after seeing our school-wide art mural by the STEAM room. We will be selling raffle tickets for the district giveaway car out front. It is $10 per ticket. Please bring check or cash. All of our proceeds will go towards new playground equipment. Car will be given away at first home football game at the high school this fall. Be sure to check the Lost-and Found while you are here!!
